Daycare Meet and Greet
Today, Mateo visited Paideia, the daycare he will start attending three days a week. As you can see, he dressed up for the occasion. He seemed to like the teachers at the daycare, and he thinks he'll get along fine there, although Mommy is feeling a little anxious about leaving him. Paideia is close to Mommy's office, so she can visit Mateo during the day.

Friends Are Fun
Mateo got a kick out of the musical birthday card Grandma gave Mommy. He thought it was funny that he could make the music start and stop at will. Mateo didn't enjoy the sharp edges on the card as much, but the awesome tune more than made up for it!
L.A. Story

Mateo spent last weekend in LA with his grandparents and aunties. It was fun to see everyone!

He was even a good boy by letting his Aunts Grace and Monica babysit him while Mommy and Daddy went to Amy's wedding and had dinner for Mommy's birthday. He can't wait to see everyone in August for Auntie G's wedding! He really hopes she gets all those ribbons tied in time!

Foo Foo
Mateo spent last weekend in Wenatchee enjoying a belated Easter celebration with his parents, grandparents, Aunt Kelsey, GUB, Aunt Konnie, and Hal. He also spent some quality time with Casey, Kyle and Teri. It was tons of fun!
We don't have the weekend photos to post - we forgot our camera (of course), so all the pics are on grandma and grandpa's camera. Hopefully, Aunt Kelsey can teach Grandpa how to download the photos from the camera onto his computer!
Seattle has been enjoying some lovely, sunny, and WARM weather this week, and Mateo has taken full advantage. He's spend loads of time in the yard with Grandma, and he took a really long walk yesterday with mom and dad.
Mateo's balance is getting much better, and he can almost sit up by himself! He can sit on his own for little bits of time, but he will fall over if he reaches for his toes or a toy. He can also just about get his toes in his mouth...yum!

Somebunny Is 5 Months Old!
Cheesy puns aside, the kid's pretty cute in his bunny ears.
We can't believe Mateo is 5 months old today! The months flew by. Now, he responds and turns his head when he hears our voices, he rolls front to back, he holds his bottle, he giggles, "talks", plays with his toys, pets the dogs, smiles all the time, grabs his toes, turns himself 360 degrees on his playmat, squeals, bats the hanging toys on his playmat to make the music start, sits on his own with a little help balancing, loves to stand up while holding daddy's fingers, constantly wants to face forward to see the world, and a host of other remarkable things (remarkable to us, anyway). ;-)
It is a joy to see what each new day brings with him. Now, if we could just get him to take an afternoon nap consistently... :)

Better Late than Never
Mateo apologizes for the lapse in posting. He's been so busy enjoying the sunshine! Since it's been more than a week, he'll do a double post.

Life has been moving along as usual here in West Seattle. Mateo hangs out with his grandma during the day and spends time with mommy and daddy at night.
He's on the verge of rolling over - he's gotten all the way onto his side, but didn't quite make it all the way. Those darn arms keep getting in the way!
This weekend, Grandpa came over for a visit. Mateo found Grandpa very entertaining. Everyone enjoyed the sun and went for walks. We even drove around checking out neighborhoods for Mateo's next house. We need one that has a room with a real door for Grandma! ;-)

Mateo is getting so big, he's officially graduated to his 9 month clothes. Just look at his masterful control over the Exersaucer:
